Brand ‘Mumbai’ insearch of an identity
The Maharashtra government, through the Mumbai Festival, has announced a contest as part of which Mumbaikars can send in their designs for the way in which the city’s name should be visually represented.
The organising committee of the Mumbai Festival, headed by industrialist Kamal Morarka, will advertise the contest shortly and instruct people on how to participate. While the contest will be conducted before January 20, the prize will be announced on the eve of the Festival being held from January 16 to 26, 2006.
The person who comes up with the winning concept for this logo, in both English and Marathi, will be awarded Rs 50,000.
The idea behind the initiative is to create a brand identity for Mumbai. The government may even take the exercise further and get an ambassador – a personality who has been ‘Made in Mumbai’.
So come on Mumbaikars,its time to get your creative juices flowing.

Yogesh – I think you need to get intouch with Times Of India (Mumbai)office. I am sure they will help you out.
tried all possible numbers of TOI(mumbai),they kept on transferring me from extn. to extn. ,for around 40 mins. yesterday and 25 mins today…….surprising !!!!

yeah..i dnt believe the mismanagement and unprofessionalism of the ”times of india’…..i wasted abt an hr in their VT office…all in vain….i still dnt have ne contact no for registeration of the competition…there’s one adv in Mumbai mirror which says..” send the entries by 20th january at P.O Box no.56, mumbai 400001, winners announced on 26th Januarry”….No other briefing of competition there..no format details..i mean …wat kindda design cometiton is this !!!!?????

sorry , if my reply is too late…but the mirror issue was dated 14 th january, its a small adv on 29th page……i think there was one more adv two days later…

hey niki…u know wat? u are like god to me..i had couriered my entry to the addres po box..blah blah..and they returned back the courier to me on 24th evening saying it was insufficient address..i was pissed..i had worked bit hard for it and atleast anted my entry to be submitted..bu then now it wasnt possible since it was the last day..so i just checked this site forthe messages..and saw ur message with the e-mail id to send the entry..it was sucha relief..thanx a lot buddy..thanx a lot..just wanted to thank you..bye take care.

actually im currently in bangalore studying..and my mom dad are here this month..thats the reason i couldnt get any direct info bout it and u know how “well” they have mismanaged this competition..no definite place to see the info..but watever,i couldnt stop thanking u coz i came to know from u the date of its first advertisement till the last day..i know i m not gonna win but atleast i wanted my entry to reach there.thsts more important..newasy bye take care..
