Lights for outdoor banners is put off, But Police Gymkhana located at Mariner Drive has Cricket matches every evening from 7 to 12 under Bright Light the same type of light as used in International Day-Night matches. Please if you can tell how this use is justified, when rest of the state is facing 8-12 hours of power cut. The article mentions that Dabhol will start production on May 1 and will produce 740 MW in its first phase. Power will cost Rs 5.50 per unit. Good news I would think. I recently read that Planning Commission announced in its report that <a href="http://www.bsnl.in/hotnews.asp?intNewsId=61516&disstyle=block&daysbefore=2" rel="nofollow">"Maharashtra is a failed state"</a> - power issues, health issues, irrigation issues and all these besides shabby infrastructure. It surprises me that little has been done to resurrect the Enron project. Load shedding is a disaster for businesses and detrimental to potential future investments.
