Picture taken by Mumbai Mirror’s lensmen of rape accused Abhishek Kasliwal coming out of the Arthur Road Jail after being granted bail by The Bombay High Court on Thursday.
Justice V M Kanade, while granting bail to Kasliwal, directed him to furnish a surety of Rs 50,000 and not to leave the country without the permission of the court. He has also been asked to be away from Mumbai and Maharashtra, till the conclusion of the trial at the sessions court here.
The court, however, permitted him to reside in Delhi, as requested by his counsel, with a direction to report his presence at the local police station every evening for four week. The HC also directed that Kasliwal, along with his parents, should not make any attempt to tamper with the evidence available against him.
While granting him bail, the court also directed the state government to provide adequate security to the victim and also prepare a plan for her welfare.

Aki - The reason why I have used the word ‘rapist’ in the title is because in all probability the guy has committed the act. Agreed, he aint been convicted yet but then we all know that Manu Sharma murdered Jessica Lal…but he still continues to roam free…so would you say that he aint a ‘murderer’ just cause our Justice system set him free.
In the opening sentence I have quoted, Mumbai Mirror’s words…where they have called him ‘a rape accused’.
The heading is very misleading. You so clarify your stand in the post but please don’t be a judge, jury and photographer ;)

I would agree with the other two commenters before me. I think you should reconsider the title of the post.
Well we all have a right to express our views…..so I shall stick with mine. If and when, Abhishek Kasliwal…is considered innocent by the court, maybe then I will take my words back.
Till then…I will consider him a ‘rapist’. However for the sake of Metro blog readers…I have made minor adjustment with the title of the post.
Whatever the title of the post, it definitely looks like the face of someone who is secure in the knowledge that he will go scot-free in the end. The look certainly does not reflect any remorse, sadness or fear of the consequences. Those shifty, cunning eyes are just signalling an impatience for the legal and procedural delays to get over…..then on to something else! What did Daddy earn all that money for?
