Can you say Bloodbath in Hindi

K had quite a forgetable day today and so did most Indians.

It has probably something to do with Arsenal losing the UEFA Champions league and this graph here.

whats all the hype about english premier league teams anyway.. its the sissiest league ever.. all they can do is make it to CL finals.. but eventually never win.. Spanish and German leagues rule!! hope next CL bayern makes it to the finals.. and play chelsea and thrash them something like 4-0.. would be a sweet revenge for losing ballack too!

German teams ? Ok the Italians and the Spaniards are good. The Germans haven’t done anything much for a half a decade. English teams on the other are doing ok in the champions leauge – Liverpool where the champions remember.

I don’t like Chealsea much so I don’t mind Bayern beating them. Plus Arsenal is hardly English – if you look at the team composition.

well maybe u dont follow german football much it seems.. but i do.. so here i go — Well lets talk about last 20 yrs for now.. 1990 world cup, 1996 european championship, 2002 world cup finals, and most QF and semis in WC and EC. Other than that Bayern has been atleast in last 8 CL quarters, atleast 2-3 semis, a couple of finals and won 1.. similar can be said about leverkussen and dortmund.. and compare that too english teams.. they hardly win anything except english PL.. they spend the most amounts of money getting their players.. like chelsea has spend something like 230 mill pounds in last 2-3 years.. that much bayern + bayer + dortmund havent even spent in 5 years and have won more than chelsea.. Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool are some of the most o-v-e-r-a-t-e-d teams in last few years.. especially Man U.. they think wayne rooney is like the savior of english football. No one can save english football.. coz its bad!!!

I would not debate with KJ about the fact that Germans win a lot, they do and its a fact. but to deride the EPL as being overrated is something of a fallacy. Germans are efficient, they are technically not as gifted as the iberians or the english but they compensate for that by having a workers mentality. that is why they win a lot. they know their job.
English and Spanish, even Italians view football as more than just a game. more than a job. it would be hard for a footballer in spain or england not to play like he was being judged on performance and not results. it is the performance that matters.
More english teams have won European championships than any other country in the world. four to be precise, Only three german teams have ever won it i think and even there, Hamburg and Borussia were solo wins. Liverpool has won it five times, Man Utd twice, Nottingham forest twice and Aston villa once. Arsenal came close this year. I am not a fan fo the english game at all because it is so much more physical there and the pl,ays tend to be a lot predictable. but that doesn’t take anything away from its brilliance. next you would probably say Henrik Larsson is not a brilliant player because he played in Celtic for most of his players.
It would be wrong to compare football only based on history. one has take into account a lot of things , like what it means for the fans, the players, the sociological impact and i think you would agree with me when i say that bot hengland and germany have been equally impacted by football.

Looks like you touched a nerve there. The economy isn’t interesting – men running around a field chasing and avoiding other men whilst kicking a small sphere about said field is much more interesting. :D
The PL is the most popular league so spending loads of cash would be worth it I suppose, especially when you get returns.

KJ – True, I don’t German follow football much .It’s not about being over-rated it about being accessible. EPL is the best marketed league and their are reasonably entertaining therefore obviously most ordinary viewer would find teams from EPL easy to connect with. Specifically I don’t quiet like Man U, Chelsea either. My specific interest here is in Arsenal. They’re a young team that does not spend to much money and has a lot of talent on hand. Fabregas, Flamini, Reyes, etc – young players which considerable talent.

Nikhils – I would agree. Last year I was lucky enough to see Inter train. More by fluke then by anything else. Outside their official bus is was like the Indian Cricket team was coming. Not to mention memorably I got to shake hands with Cambiasso & Adriano

Nxp – It is the the most watched football league in the world.

Did I say anything about henrik larsson?? no!! I’ve seen wayne rooney, cristian ronaldo.. and those guys are nowhere as good as wat they are made out to be.. there are some good players in chelsea but they never get their due.. also arsenal has few good players.. but all the talk is only about wayne rooney?? wtf??

And I would disagree with u nikhil, german soccer is way physical then english.. germans have been known for their tough and physical game since ages..and they rely on the physical game to win.. and most ppl like to watch good offense.. I am more of a good defense watcher.. thats how football is played over here atleast.. I mean NFL.. it is sooooo much more better than soccer.. everytime I see soccer and I just seem to hate it.. do any of u guys watch nfl??

OMG LOL At Germany Football being better then the Prem HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Germany football is shit! I would much rather watch the Prem, La Liga, Serie A or Ligue 1! Bayerns best player is coming to the Prem!!! All be it to Chelski but he is leaving because the Prem is so much better!!! More open, physical football! The German national team is built around him. The German national team is also pretty uninspiring to watch. They hardly play sintilating football! They seem to rely on luck more then anything else to progress anywhere in comps. They should have lost the last World cup to the USA!!! The US outplayed them and they should have had a penalty for handball! The history books will show that they got to the Final but they were not worthy finalists and i for one was glad when Brazil won and im sure the rest of the World outside of Germany were to! Attacking football over dull uninspiring, luck reliant football any day!!!!
