Favorite Radio Station

An American friend just moved to Mumbai and he is zapped by all the radio stations on FM. He was wondering which one to latch on to. So I told him that I would ask the readers of Metroblogging Mumbai to help him make up his mind.

With the plethora of radio stations especially on FM,

  • What is your favorite radio station and frequency.
  • Which RJ do you love ?
  • Which one you cannot stand ?

Comments are open. Help is much appreciated

I genrally have no particular favourites. I keep on browsing through one stn to the other. ALthough I like RJ Malishka… She is pretty good – chirpy, bindaas and pretty much at ease chatting with ppl.

I would also appreciate if someone can provide information on whether any of the Mumbai FM stations broadcast online. I just returned from a trip there and would love to continue listening to one or more of the stations …

Blaine here – Miami Captain. I would like to say that Indians are lucky in that they don’t have to pay to listen to good radio. We in the USA pay to listen to satellite radio since all of FM has been monopolized by giant conglomerates who have homogenized the entire USA radio listening experience to a few lobotomized Top 40 hits and canned news, with up to 40% per hour of ads.
