Make Money from Garbage

If the BMC’s new proposal sees light of day, you will be able to generate cash from all the trash.
Tipster Thaslim Arif informs us
According to the proposal, prepared by standing committee chairman Ravindra Waikar, the BMC will not only come to your doorstep to collect garbage but will pay you 25 paise per kilo for it. All this to try and stop you from dumping the waste carelessly and thus dirtying the city.
One family in Mumbai generates, on an average, 1.5 kg of waste every day, so the BMC hopes the incentive of money, no matter how small the amount, will make Mumbaikars rethink about their civic habits.[link [1]]
We already have something on the same lines in place already. Ragpickers do get some money for all the garbage they pick up. This scheme somehow institutionalizes the same. Good move BMC
