The Death Count

I have been wondering…

Does the overall death count of over 190+ people include the 9 killer terrorists?

In other related news

The Muslim Council on Sunday decided not to allow burial of the bodies of the nine terrorists killed during the Mumbai siege in the Marine Lines Bada Qabrastan (cemetery).

My suggestion is to feed them to the sharks off the coast of Mumbai, in the Arabian Sea.

I realize that the above post is just giving vent to frustrations (which may be valid) but think about what you are saying.

The ‘bodies’ are not those ‘people’. the terrorists are dead. these are just their bodies. without much discussion or controversy they need to be buried very simply. this is not another issue that needs to be raked up.

What the Muslim Council is doing is tokenism of the reverse kind. It is the mind and mindset we need to worry about. The people who lured, brainwashed and trained these boys. I’m not saying the terrorists themselves are not to blame. But please don’t promote statements like this in a public sphere that may help you vent but might grossly offend somebody else (however opposed you might be to their world view) and only add to the chaos of reactions.

    with respect
to the writers commendable efforts in this space over the last few days

    Karan

    Thanks for your valid point.

However, do note that I am just quoting the TOI article.

I’m told by reasonably well informed sources that the body count far far exceeded that released by the govt. I have good reason to believe that it may be in the region of 500 – 600.

    Hi,

My comment was more for the writer’s last expression about the sharks, not so much for the Muslim Council (although I have made my point through a response to what they are doing)

Yes, of course I knew that what the Muslim Council said was not written by the author of the post. I did not want the Muslim Council to think about what they are saying as much as I hoped the author might reflect on his last exppression (because I like your work here and do not care either way for the Muslim Council).

    thanks
